So…I got the next painting done. I’m rather pleased with how it turned out. I think I am improving. Been wanting to paint more than one person in a painting just to further my skills. It’s a lot easier to paint one person than two interacting. So yeah, I keep trying to learn more as I go along.
But as for Dead Man’s Chest….I wanted to paint a Naga. And then when I got into it I went…OMG, what have I done!??? SCALES!! Yah, You don’t want to know how many scales ideas I went through. And after looking at references of poisonous snakes for awhile I realized that painting them was going to be ‘fun’. lol Finally, I settled into a style of scales that I could bring almost a jeweled effect to… And its hard to see in the painting but there are a TON of water drops. Painting water. Now that is another task on top of scales. LOL. However, this painting taught me quite a bit so I can’t complain. Later paintings will look back and thank this one for being so troublesome!
In the end, one of my good friends gave me the idea for this title. It’s rather appropriate don’t you think? -tee hee-
